How does the E-IDOS differ from a conventional jet pump or centrifugal pump with pressure switch?
In a classic solution, the pump, mechanical pressure switch, and, if applicable, pressure tank operate separately.
The E-IDOS combines a centrifugal pump, electronic pressure sensor, check valve, and control system in a compact unit.
This allows the pump to maintain a much more constant pressure, reduces switching cycles, saves energy through speed-controlled operation, and is quicker to start up (“plug-and-play”).
Can the E-IDOS be used as a domestic waterworks system?
Yes. The E-IDOS is designed as a compact water supply system for domestic and building services. It is suitable for increasing pressure and supplying water from cisterns, tanks, or the mains. Similar to a domestic waterworks system.
Unlike traditional jet domestic waterworks with large pressure vessels, the E-IDOS regulates the pressure electronically via the speed and requires a significantly smaller pressure vessel or none at all.
This ensures more even pressure and lower energy consumption.
For which media is E-IDOS suitable?
The E-IDOS is primarily intended for clean water and slightly contaminated water (e.g., rainwater).
Abrasive solids, heavily contaminated media, or chemically aggressive liquids are generally not permitted.
For special media, we check the suitability of each series individually based on the data sheet and material combination.
What protection and comfort features are integrated into E-IDOS?
All pumps in the E-IDOS line feature integrated pressure control with a pressure sensor and check valve.
Depending on the type, additional functions such as dry-running protection, motor monitoring, soft start, anti-short cycle, adjustable operating modes (e.g., Eco/Comfort), and parameterization via display are available.
These functions protect the pump, extend its service life, and increase ease of use compared to simple centrifugal pumps with mechanical pressure switches.
