What is the difference between clear water and dirty water submersible pumps?
Clear water submersible pumps are designed for clean or slightly contaminated water with very small amounts of solids, e.g., drainage, basement drainage, or cisterns.
Submersible waste water pumps have an open or vortex impeller and a defined free passage for solids.
They are suitable for wastewater, drainage shafts, collection tanks, and media containing particles.
The decisive factors are grain size and solids content, which we take into account in the design.
When is a flat-suction submersible pump useful?
Flat suction submersible pumps are used when containers, shafts, or basements need to be emptied as completely as possible.
Depending on the model, models such as the GX ZERO can hold water up to approximately 1 mm residual water level and are therefore ideal for flood, basement, or surface drainage, as well as for emptying tanks.
What are the advantages of a submersible pump with a float switch?
A submersible pump with a float switch switches on and off automatically depending on the water level.
This protects the pump from dry running and enables unattended operation, e.g., in pump sumps, shafts, or collection tanks.
Many submersible dirty water pumps and drainage pumps are available with an optional integrated float switch or magnetic float switch.
When is a stainless steel submersible pump the right choice?
Stainless steel submersible pumps are chosen when corrosion resistance is important. For example, for slightly aggressive media, rainwater, or slightly contaminated service water.
Series such as GX ZERO, GXR, and GXV use chrome-nickel steel for the pump casing and motor casing, making them more resistant to corrosion than pure gray cast iron designs.
